And the mechanism of the influence of the roughness on the coating adhesion is discussed as follows:
1. The unevenness of the substrate surface causes the interlocking phenomenon that film adhere to the substrate. The greater the roughness, the stronger the bite force, and the greater the adhesion.
2. The larger the surface roughness of the substrate, the greater the true surface area, and the stronger the adsorption of the film and the substrate.
3. The corrosion products produced when the substrate with biggish roughness is corroded are not easily diffused, thereby reducing the effect of the resulting corrosion products on the decrease in adhesion.
